Copper for CNC Machining

Copper's superior thermal and electrical conductivity, along with other important attributes such as durability and ease of fabrication, make it a favored material for numerous components.

Copper 101 and 110 possess exceptional thermal and electrical conductivity, making them highly sought after for bus bars, wire connectors, and various electrical applications, including components for power transmission and distribution systems. These copper alloys also provide remarkable durability, resistance to corrosion, and ease of fabrication.

They exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and have natural antimicrobial properties. The power, automotive, medical, and aerospace sectors utilize copper specifically for these attributes.

Hardness

Material hardness is based on the Brinnell Hardness Number.

C101

CORROSION RESISTANCE, CONDUCTIVITY, DUCTILITY

Copper C101, also known as oxygen-free copper, is an extremely pure metal with a composition of approximately 99.99% Cu. This high level of purity provides it with outstanding conductivity, earning it the nickname HC (high conductivity) copper. It is also the foundational material for brass and bronze alloys.

C110

CONDUCTIVITY, COST EFFECTIVE, MACHINABILITY

Copper C110, also known as Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) Copper, is another option with high purity. Although it is not as pure as Copper 101, it contains 99.90% Cu. This alloy is the most commonly used due to its cost-effectiveness and suitability for most electrical applications. Additionally, it is easier to machine compared to Copper 101.
